Cybershot Catch-Up, Part 2

More Cybershot photos!

Cotton, I believe. The Geology department is down a hallway to the left.

We went to the Wellington Farmers' Market last Sunday. Fresh, non-imported fruits and vegetables for incredibly low prices? I'm there.

As excited as I am for the start of classes, my ongoing lack of wireless in my flat means that accessing important course documents via Blackboard is going to be problematic. I'm trying to figure it out as best I can using the wifi I nab elsewhere around campus.

I leave you with a final shot of Te Papa and hope for a smoother semester!

Cybershot Catch-Up

The internet has been a little questionable of late - we were supposed to have wifi set up in our flats by Tuesday this week, but my flat got a bum modem so we're without internet until at least this Monday. Classes start on Monday. This is somewhat obnoxious. However, I can still get wifi at the library and at friends' houses in the vicinity.

I haven't posted any of the photos I took on my Cybershot (the little camera) so far, so today will be a catch-up day! I was playing around with Photoshop a little bit as I sorted these - apologies, but I was having fun. So there.

Campus!

On the way to my flat.

Around the corner and down the hill...

My house is up the hill to the right, but you've seen it already.

Location, Location, Location!

It's been a bit gloomy out for the past couple of days, so my SLR stayed home while I went out. However, today was sunny for a change and I took the opportunity to snap a few shots of my flat, the campus, and the city of Wellington. I'll try to nab some better shots of campus one of these days, I promise!

(For the unfamiliar: I own two cameras, which serve different purposes. My Canon Digital Rebel XT is an SLR, or single-lens reflex, and weighs about half as much as my laptop. It's large, inconvenient, and takes sensational high-resolution photos. My Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W220 is a point-and-shoot that fits in my pocket. It's small, sleek, and cheap enough that I'd rather use it in the rain than risk the Rebel.)

And now, the flat! I'm in the second apartment down from the street.

My room is through the window on the left.

The entryway.

Exploring Te Papa

I've moved into my housing and registered for classes, but I'm a little backlogged on photos, so...here you go.

A few days ago, we went to Te Papa, a free museum in downtown Wellington.

We had a really great view of Wellington's harbor. These shots were taken from the museum.

These metal plaques with literary quotes are scattered all around Wellington.

Back into the museum!

Some readers have requested people shots. Here you go!

Me! Sitting in a big ol' hunk of basalt! In New Zealand!

Photos of my house and campus are on the way!
